Finland has a new 1on1 champion

Last weekend between 31/7 - 3/8 2008 Assembly summer with more than 5000 participants took place at Hartwall arena in Helsinki, Finland. For the second year in a row QTOUR Championship, the most prestigious 1on1 aim tournament in the world, was on location to crown the best Counter strike 1.6 aimer in Finland. This year as an integrated tournament in the WCG Finland finals.

Defending champion Samu "plastE" Aalto to the finals

The defending Qtour champion from 2007, Samu “plastE” Aalto came back this year to defend his titel. The tournament went pretty easy for plastE until he had to meat his Roccat team mate “naSu” in the quarter finals and won with smallest possible margin in a very intense fight. This was the second time “plastE” defeated “naSu” in Qtour.

A new Counter strike star is born! JiGetus.

On the other side of the bracket a new player in Qtour context, Jirka “JiGetus” Ryhti from team EGC made his way to the finals. “JiGetus” proved to be a skilled world class aimer. With the most famous Finnish shout caster “wabbit” commenting the finals in front of an excited audience “JiGetus” defeated “plastE” with 15 to 9 to become the WCG QTOUR 2008 Finland champion.

And we also have the Gamers Assembly ! Nice clean, prestigious, awesome. In the eyes and in the heart of millions of people in smelly cheese country, this LAN is the best. Let's find out if this year the GA2K8 held it promises!

The Logitech.fi player Samu "plastE" Aalto has won the title of the best aimer in Finland. The QTour Finnish Championships were held for the first time ever in Finland, at the Assembly Summer 2007 event.

The finals were commented by www.GameTV.fi and they really made the finals feel fantastic! They held the crowd in serious tension the whole match.

After a crazy match between plastE and naSu from 69n28e (2-0). Plaste took the win, just after loosing with logitech to 69n28e in the WCG Tournament.

Kookas, who became player number 16 from the qualifiers, beat contE in the bronze match and placed 3rd in the tournament.

We want to thank all the sponsors for a great event and all the players. And ofcourse the crowd which was totally fantastic. Hopefully we will see you all next year cheering for your favourite players.

It's the second biggest computer festival in the world and as usual, QTOUR is in the centre of all action. Here's the first pictures from the first QTOUR-stop in 2007 - The Gathering. Festival, Party and Gaming - Enjoy!

This last weekend 11-12 November QTOUR Championship was played on NetOnNet warehouse shop in Malmö. Sweden. QTOUR introduced a new level of Counter-strike competition and is hopefully from now, next to 5 vs 5 team play a genre in competitive Counter-Strike.

QTOUR XI is done : Blacko Dominates !

That PxL was a very good lan, not enough gamers believed it before it came, that's the only shadow on the picture. As u can guess the south of France was sunny, 67 Challengers signed in and everyone was convinced he would be the "Choosen" the one who would slap the Swedish Tall Guy ! But nobody did...quick was undefeated during that 11th stop.

After a 18 hour drive from Stockholm we finally ended up in Namur, Belgium for the Q-TOUR #10 on Starlan. The event turned out to be an thrill with some of the best players in Benelux attending. After 6 month passivity Quick started up real bad losing 4 matches in the first round. But found his normal status in the 3 last rounds.

As always playing against quick is just the qualifier and the players that ended up in the final was Achoe, tommeh, apollo and luce. After some great matches Luce from Digital Mind won quite convincing over Achoe with 10 - 3

Sennheiser, Intel, Logitech and QPAD wants to thank the Starlan Crew for a service above normal and a very proffesional event and to all the players attending Q-TOUR #10

You can find the results and pictures from the event here.

Another Q-Tour has been played and this time it was at the German LAN-event NorthCon and here we actually got to see a girl in the final match for the first time in Q-Tours history. Even though she didn’t win it all she got a nice second place after getting defeated by PnK in the final match. The top 3 players got to walk home with a whole bunch of prizes from QPAD, Sennheiser, Logitech, Intel and Shuttle worth a lot of money and of course the winner PnK also got a 500 Euro cash prize.

Checky checky ----->

The Swedish Q-Tour event at Dreamhack turned out to be an awesome event with a lot of very good Swedish players walking up on stage to get their asses kicked by quick. But as always facing quick is just the qualifier and the players that got the most frags against quick were qualified for the finals. After some great matches we got to see vilden from SK-Gaming win the event in a close final match against Insanez from mYm.Raptor. Of course everyone that got a frag in the tournament walked away with prizes but the final three is the players that walked home with the big prizes worth a lot of money from Q-Tours sponsors QPAD, Sennheiser, Intel, Logitech and also Shuttle that came in to the game at this event. You can find the scores and pictures from the event here.
