QPAD, the Swedish company world-renowned for it’s premium gaming gear, today announced their official sponsorship of the Electronic Sports World Cup (ESWC), held from June 30th to July 4th at Disneyworld Paris Resort in Paris, France.

Introduced for the first time in 2003, the ESWC has established itself as the leading event in the world of video games. The only one of its kind, this event is an annual electronic sports celebration that gathers the best teams in the world for competing on video games specially designed and adapted to player confrontation.

Tactics
For a team to be successful in this day and age it requires a solid strategy going in to each round of play. No matter how good a strategy is without tactical precision it is destined to fail. A well placed and perfectly timed flash bang or grenade can be the difference in a win or a loss. This tactical precision can be much easier to accomplish with the proper mouse, mousepad and headset. Practice is always a major factor in performance but without the proper gear tactical precision can be much more difficult to achieve.

A new record was set at DreamHack Stockholm on Monday 15th June for the “most kills in Counter-Strike (Valve, 2003) in 12 hours”. The record is 518 and was achieved by Björn ''Threat'' Pers (Sweden) at DreamHack Summer 2009, Jönköping, Sweden. This new record will be shortlisted for inclusion in the next Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition to be published in Spring 2010. The Gamer’s Edition 2009 is already available and can be found in all the good bookstores.

QPAD, the Swedish company famed for its premium gaming gear, today announced the result of the Guinness World Record attempt at Dreamhack the biggest lan party in the world, taking place last weekend between 13-16 of June.

QPAD was on location to set a new Guinness World record in Counter-Strike 1.6 aim map. The rules where simple. You simply had get the most rounds during 12 hours of game play. First to 10 rounds stayed and met the next challenger in a classic King Of The hill format.
